Q For this assignment, you want to start by reading the article (Iyengar, Wells, and Schwartz (2006)) in our week 3 content). After reading the article take this 13-item Maximization assessment http://pierrettedesrosiers.com/documents/QUEST_maximization_scale_JG_001.pdf (Links to an external site.)) and score your results. See if you higher in maximizing, or lower and are considered more of a satisficer. Once you have completed the article and assessment, think about how you scored and consider if you feel this scale captures your maximizing versus satisficing tendencies. Further, think about how you experience regret versus satisfaction in your life, does it connect to your maximizing/satisficing score? Lastly, reflect on whether you see yourself being concerned about this idea when you start your search for the next step after college (first job, graduate school, etc.). In 2 double-spaced pages you should fully explain your score, consider the role of maximixing/satisficing in your life, and your degree of concern moving forward. After reading the article and assessment, maximizing and satisficing would come in decision-making. This study is on individual differences in maximizing and satisficing tendencies of choice of strategies as we see that Maximize will always seek for best and exhausted in search of all possibilities. Satisfier will strive for a good well. Regarding the maximization scale, I would feel that sometimes I would act as maximizing and sometimes as satisfier. On the scale when it comes to possibilities, I used to imagine all the options and analyses, which one is best.
